Biochar Derived from Pineapple Leaf Non-Fibrous Materials and Its Adsorption Capability for Pesticides
نویسندگان
چکیده
Non-fibrous materials (NFMs) are typically discarded during pineapple leaf fiber processing. The underutilized NFM waste was proposed for use in this work as a raw material the production of biochar . removal pesticides (acetamiprid, imidacloprid, or methomyl) from water then investigated using derived (NFMBC). pseudo-second-order kinetic data suggested chemisorption pesticide on NFMBC. While acetamiprid imidacloprid adsorption NFMBC occurred primarily via multi-layered (best fitted with Freundlich isotherms), Sips isotherms matched experimental data, implying heterogeneous methomyl surface. capacities acetamiprid, methomyl, and 82.18, 36.16, 28.98 mg g–1, respectively, which agreement order polarity (low to high) pesticides. Adsorption indicated that preferably removed low-polarity sources. Since leaves provide fibers NFMs development, study should promote an extended agro-waste utilization approach full-cycle resource management fields.

Adsorption of Pb(II) and Cu(II) by Ginkgo-Leaf-Derived Biochar Produced under Various Carbonization Temperatures and Times
Ginkgo trees are common street trees in Korea, and the large amounts of leaves that fall onto the streets annually need to be cleaned and treated. Therefore, fallen gingko leaves have been used as a raw material to produce biochar for the removal of heavy metals from solutions. Gingko-leaf-derived biochar was produced under various carbonization temperatures and times. This study evaluated the ...

Cadmium oxide rhombus-shaped nanostructure was synthesized using hydrothermal process followed by heating treatment. Clearly, X-ray diffraction pattern demonstrated the formation of CdO crystalline phase. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that the obtained rhombus-like structure is composed of nanoparticles with the average size of 29 nm. In addition, we evaluated adsorption of org...
متن کاملBiochar from Orange (citrus sinensis) Peels by Acid Activation for Methylene Blue Adsorption
In this work, orange (Citrus sinensis) peels biochar (OPBC) were prepared by one-step H2SO4 activation for Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption from aqueous solution. The physicochemical properties of OPBC were characterized using instrumental analyses such as CHNS-O analyzer, Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffract...
متن کاملAdsorption and desorption of lead in Iranian acid and alkaline soils amended with sewage sludge-derived biochar
The effective management of sewage sludge materials in an environmentally and economically acceptable way is through the pyrolytic conversion of the sludge to biochar and its use for agricultural purposes. The aims of this work were: (1) to assess the effect of biochar prepared from sewage sludge at two different temperatures (350 ºC and 650 ºC) on the adsorption/desorptio...
متن کاملLeaf margin phenotype-specific restriction-site-associated DNA-derived markers for pineapple (Ananas comosus L.)
To explore genome-wide DNA polymorphisms and identify DNA markers for leaf margin phenotypes, a restriction-site-associated DNA sequencing analysis was employed to analyze three bulked DNAs of F1 progeny from a cross between a 'piping-leaf-type' cultivar, 'Yugafu', and a 'spiny-tip-leaf-type' variety, 'Yonekura'. The parents were both Ananas comosus var. comosus. From the analysis, piping-leaf ...
